SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES

Music, Movement, and Library

Music permeates each child’s day at Habonim as they sing and listen to music in the classroom. In addition, once a week, a music teacher teaches the children songs reflective of daily life, of Shabbat, of upcoming holidays, and the general fun of childhood.

A movement specialist teaches movement in our large indoor play space to each class on a weekly basis.

Each class visits our newly catalogued and automated library on a weekly basis. Children begin to experience the pleasure of selecting a book, and the responsibility of borrowing a book to take home and return each week.

Facilities

We have four spacious Nursery School Classrooms, three with lofts. Every day, all of our classes spend time in our large indoor play space, outfitted with climbing structures, basketball hoops and balls, scooters, wheeling carts, and other gross motor equipment. Weather permitting, each class goes to our outdoor playground where the children can run, jump, climb, play ball, and build with special large, outdoor wooden blocks. The children visit our library each week, and use the Synagogue kitchen for some group cooking projects.
